A pretty underrated spot for dim sum! It's an unsuspected food-to-go spot near the corner of Bolsa and Brookhurst, and you'll probably pass it a few times. Inside, there's around 3 small tables, and a large steam table, just like most other small bakeries and delis. The service is quite fast with the workers helping you right away and grabbing the items, whether you're togo or dining in. Personally, my favorites were the siu mai and the fried dumplings, which were filled with a good amount of meat, and had a great flavor. It wasn't the best dim sum, unlike what you'll find in the 626, but it's passable, and a good choice for a little morning pick-me-up

Fast service, has the dim sum staples, and has very nice ladies that work there. HOUSE SATE IS FIRE!!! For the price, the quality of dim sum is pretty good - it doesn't get any cheaper than this around the city. Got my fave, bot chien, and it was good on its own, but after reading some of these reviews, looks like I have to go back and get it fried with eggs. Shumai is good, har gow is delicious. Also got the last portion of the fried shrimp balls around 1pm, so I'm assuming those are popular as well. The only thing I don't like about this place is their location and the amount of space in the store. My S.O. and I wanted to sit in, but it was already filled since there were only like 4 tables inside. Parking lot is a literal mission to find parking AND get to your destination safely, lmao. Other than that, if you have a craving for dim sum and don't want to spend more than you have to, this place is worth a shot.

Giai Phat is still one of my favorite and go to Dim sum. Lines aren't too crazy also. The shu mai and har gow are my favorite dim sum there. The dough for the har gow is different from your traditional ones, but I like the texture and chewness of the har gow here. Sometimes if you get lucky, they have promotions where you buy 2 get 1 free. If you love hot chili sauce, then you came to the right place. What I do is mix their sate and siracha and some soy sauce. OMG its amazing, its definitely spicy, but the flavor is out of this world. It makes dipping the dim sum there even better!! Overall, I enjoy all the different dim sum at Giai Phat. The wonton soup is also delicious

My mom told me this place is known for their dimsum. I have been here once before this trip and I wasn't too impressed so I wasn't looking forward to a dimsum take-out feast here. I was severely surprised by how much I loved it! LOCATION & PARKING // It is located on Bolsa between Brookhurst and Magnola - the prime spot for all good Vietnamese spots. It's in a huge strip mall so there are a ton of parking spots. The shop itself is extremely small. I would say only 8 people could comfortably stand in there (even less with COVID). This is definitely a take and go spot so do not expect to sit down here. FOOD // Okay, we ordered about $150 of dim sum. What can I say? We're a big family. We ordered all the classics: HA GAO, XIUMAI, DAU HU KY, XOI LA, BANH BAO XA XIU, and literally everything else. Honestly, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the dimsum! Everything tasted pretty good. We also got here about an hour after they opened so they had everything we requested. I will say that their VIETNAMESE COFFEE (CA PHE SUA DA) was just okay. I've had way better and I would skip it here. Go ahead and just get some from Banh Mi Che Cali. SERVICE // You're going to have to scream here to get your order in. Or at least you're going to have to repeat yourself. It's fine here and they get things done. I didn't experience any rudeness. OVERALL // 4 stars I'm not huge on takeout dimsum but if I was in the area, why not? I was happy enough with the order!
